Last seen on NZ shores at a sold out Members show at the Kings Arms in 2013, JC Carroll will be back this October for one exclusive New Zealand show at The Thirsty Dog Tavern.
Fans can expect to hear the classic Members hits as well as a few choice picks from JC’s 40 year career of Punk, folk and film compositions.
JC is a storyteller. He deals in incidents seen, dreams and nightmares. The worries of youth and the sadness of old. He stood up for the Suburbs in the seventies and is still doing it today. His songs Sound of the Suburbs, Solitary Confinement and Offshore Banking Business have been part of the Great British Songbook for over 40 years.
This is not just another acoustic show, this is a solo show with JC on electric guitar, support acts are Atsushi Moisty and DJ Skin and Bone.
Tickets are very limited at this one-off intimate show.

Paul Symons was originally know as “the tall fulla with the beard; more recently “the tall fulla with the grey beard”, & has been skulking around the edges of the folk & acoustic music scene for some time… a local singer songwriter transplanted in West Auckland from Taranaki. He has a couple of albums of originals and has been in demand as a recording & live accompanist, regularly appearing with local songwriters & performers such as ‘The Helen Dorothy Project’ & Caitlin Smith Paul plays acoustic guitar with ‘Martha Lousie & the Backseat Drivers’ as well as the Paua-duo “PLOT” with Double Bass guru *Lott*..

Mark will play an opening set & the two of them are likely to do some jamming near the end of the evening. Other passing musos are likely to jump in for a harmony, mandolin line etc. The koha teapot is available & your contributions for the musicians are most welcome.

"What do you get when you combine a wild, hard drinkin’, country rock singin’, lunatic, with a clean livin’, folk pickin’, Renaissance Man… You get the hot new Auckland Americana group ‘Wilde Taylor’.
Wilde Taylor is an Auckland based Americana act made up from Jesse Wilde (vocals/guitar) and Ed Taylor (guitar/percussion). The band was formed in 2016 when Ed started looking for a new singer for a regular bar gig. After trying all sorts of unusual characters he came across Jesse on a website and they started playing together.
In 2018 Wilde Taylor released their debut album, ‘Don’t Blame It On Me’ to rave reviews and great sales. The title track placed in the semi finals of the I.S.C (International Song Competition) out of USA, and they have performed on Radio N.Z, Sofa Sounds and Sky TV. The boys have also toured extensively around the North Island of NZ and are just finalizing their schedule for 2019.

New Zealand’s own Leonard Cohen tribute band Imperfect Offering presents a commemorative concert in Auckland on Sunday 28 October. The band was formed in 2015 from established rock, jazz and classical musicians in a nine-piece line-up including violin and even balalaika. They have had standing ovations and sold-out houses in a tour of the North Island started last year. 

Imperfect Offering has appeared on TVNZ News on the event of Cohen’s death in November 2016 and was selected to be represented on the official Leonard Cohen website Cohencentric. Imperfect Offering have appeared at Q Theatre Auckland, Ascension Wine Estate Matakana, Tauranga, Hamilton and Century Theatre Napier. Imperfect Offering presents the best of Cohen’s music including the great “Hallelujah”,  “Suzanne”, “Chelsea Hotel”, “The Future”, “Bird on the Wire” and songs from Cohen\'s extraordinary last album You Want it Darker.
